I Had to Die So I Could Live

Today 4/23/23, my husband Andre Collins Sr., and I Andre Collins Sr. decided to Die so we could live! We both have been baptized before, but after our home Bible study with Lenard Tillery and Lisa Tillery, we had never truly understood the importance of dying to self and this world. Pastor Tillery mentioned how many people get baptized but have never truly Died(repented). So that means they are buried alive! A lot of times they go back and live the same old life.

That day after the Holy Spirit pricked our hearts we knew deep down that God was calling us to surrender all! Die and surrender our goals, visions, plans, and selfish ambitions and follow Him. We decided to give him a yes!!

When Jesus asked His disciples to follow him, they left everything! Have you truly left everything? Old mindsets, beliefs, traditions, or whatever the Father is saying to lay down! When He told the disciples to follow Him, they left their careers and what was familiar to follow Jesus. They didn't ask him any questions, the Bible said they left immediately. Do you trust Jesus that much to follow Him without knowing what is next?

I love Jesus's statement below because many will say before they follow Jesus that they have to get their lives together first, and tend to this or that, but Jesus said...

“If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters and yes, even his life, he is not able to be My disciple.” Luke 14:26
